Here we use Magi Astrology to look at the elements of success in music
Musical success is associated with fame and in Magi Astrology we have an aspect called the super fame aspect, the aspect between Jupiter (success and expansion) and Uranus (fame). According to this theory, a person who has a 30-degree aspect between Jupiter and Uranus in their astrological chart will stand a better than average chance of becoming famous. Jupiter rules success, good fortune and benevolence. Meanings for Uranus include: broadcasting, fame, technology, freedom and independence, astrology and whatever changes or is new, anything that is worldwide, eye-hand co-ordination and balance. For our Jupiter-Uranus aspect we get these valid meanings: worldwide (Uranus) success (Jupiter) and blessed (Jupiter) by the public (Uranus). We also get massive (Uranus) success (Jupiter). It's therefore reasonable to assume we will find this aspect in the charts of many successful musicians. We can use Magi Astrology to further reduce the varieties of fish that will be caught in our net. We do this by specifying musical planets that need to be in aspect to Jupiter and Uranus. Let us include one more planet in this synchronization, our grouping of planets connected via 30-degree aspects. Planets of interest are Mercury, Neptune and Pallas. This is because Mercury rules writing, singing and music. Neptune rules all creative and artistic professions, and Pallas rules musical compositions.
Mercury with Jupiter and Uranus
Blonde ABBA singer Agnetha Faltskog qualifies as a super famous (Jupiter and Uranus) singer (Mercury). This is because Uranus rules fame and the public while Jupiter rules good fortune and success. In the graph to the right, you will see that Jupiter and Uranus are in trine aspect, which is a so-called pure enhancement aspect in Magi Astrology. This means that in her case, Jupiter and Uranus form the “Super Success” aspect - as opposed to the general and lower case super success energy that I use to denote any 30-degree aspect between Jupiter and Uranus.Agnetha is a Super Famous (Jupiter and Uranus trine) singer (Mercury).
Music producer Michael Omartian also classifies as a Super Famous musician. I still think his “Add up the Wonders” is one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded. Omartian has lasting fame as a producer, having had number one records in three consecutive decades. He has won several Grammy awards. Neptune with Jupiter and Uranus
As Neptune rules both creativity and being peaceful, we are not surprised to find that Bob Dylan has Neptune in aspect to his super fame energy. This synchronization is found in his heliocentric astrology, which is “true” at the same time as the geocentric dimension is “true”. They form complimentary perspectives of the same person.Note that in Magi Astrology, the conjunction is also a pure enhancement and with Neptune being in trine to the conjunction, we get a second super aspect, that of Jupiter trine Neptune.Dylan is a Super Famous (Jupiter conjunct Uranus) musician (Neptune) who’s gained long-term fortune (Jupiter trine Neptune) from music. He has also promoted peace and he was awarded the Nobel Prize in literature by the Nobel Foundation, which is an organization promoting peace (Neptune).

Pallas with Jupiter and Uranus
Pallas has been found to rule whatever is logical and sequential, including musical compositions. For this grouping I find several heavyweight musicians in my database, artists who have given amazing compositions (Pallas) to the world. To the right we have Brian Eno’s chart. Since Pallas also rules computers, this chart reminds us of the super famous Windows 95 startup sound, which Brian Eno composed. He is indeed a super famous (Jupiter and Uranus) composer (Pallas)
If you find yourself asking WHY Annie Lennox is such a super-talented musician, fret no more. A first secret of her success is revealed to the left. She has BOTH Pallas and Neptune lining up with her Super Success conjunction. She is a Super Successful (Jupiter and Uranus) composer (Pallas) of creative music (Neptune). Shania Twain, Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Page, as well as ABBA are some of the other super successful musicians whose stars we’ll inspect under that heading. And oh, given Annie’s amazing videos, you might wonder if Pallas also rules “choreography”. Yes, correctamundo. Spot on.
In the later years, Miles Davis used to play with his back to the audience. This was not due to arrogance, but so he could better perform his work as a conductor (Pallas). I would be hard-pressed to think of a more famous trumpet player than Davis. He was also one of the most influential modern jazz. musicians. Mercury rules singing
Since Mercury rules singing, you’d expect that the quality of a singer’s voice would be reflected by aspects made by other planets to Mercury in the Magi Astrology chart - and this is exactly what happens. One reason mainstream astrologers haven’t figured out that the aspects to Mercury describe a singer’s voice is they fail to look at all the required dimensions. If an amazing singer has a longitudinal geocentric chart that doesn’t have impressive aspects to Mercury, it would be easy to conclude that the Mercury aspects “have nothing to do with it”. But if you’re armed with the Magi Astrology symbolisms and all the six dimensions we work with, then you will find the impressive Mercury aspects. Apart from using multiple-planet aspects to analyze the voices of superstar singers - as described on page 115 of the Magi Society Ephemeris - we find that planetary synchronizations reveal the character of a voice.
Karen Carpenter
The first time I realized that I could correctly hear the planetary energies of a voice was when listening to Karen Carpenter sing. "That has to be a planetary eclipse between Mercury and Jupiter," I thought. This means her Mercury and Jupiter were both conjunct and parallel, with the planets being virtually on top of each other. Karen Carpenters planetary eclipse between the planet of singing and the planet of benevolence and success is what gives her voice that warm and benevolent quality. In addition to the Mercury-Jupiter conjunction, her Pallas and Chiron tie into the synchronization - and we get a career (Chiron) as a composer (Pallas) and singer (Mercury) with a benevolent, warm and successful (Jupiter) voice (Mercury).
Chaka Khan
Powerhouse singer Chaka Khan has two overlapping synchronizations involving Mercury in the geocentric longitudes. The first includes Jupiter, the Jupiter/Chiron midpoint, Chiron, Pluto, Mercury and Neptune. She was to have a Cinderella (Ju/Chi) successful (Jupiter) Career (Chiron) from her charismatic (Chiron) powerful (Pluto) expansive (Jupiter) and sensual (Neptune) voice (Mercury).
Chaka Khan’s second synchronization involving Mercury connects into Pallas, Sedna, Saturn and Neptune. She has a creative and sensual (Neptune) voice (Mercury), which she uses competitively (Sedna) with control (Saturn) and intelligence (Pallas).In the declinations, she has a tight contra-parallel between Mercury and the Jupiter/Chiron midpoint, which suggests she may turn into a Cinderella singer.Which is exactly what happened when she joined Rufus as a young woman
Super Success - Led Zeppelin
Jimmy Page
Jimmy Page is the guitarist who produced Led Zeppelin, the world's most influential rock band with record sales somewhere between 200 to 300 million. He has exceptional composing, guitar, producing and marketing skills. They are all evident in his Magi Astrology analysis. If you've ever seen interviews featuring him, you'll know he also seems like a genuinely nice bloke. This also bears out in the astrology.
In the geocentric longitudes, Jimmy has a grand trine between Pallas, Venus and Pluto - which signifies money (Venus) and power (Pluto) from musical compositions (Pallas). The Venus and Pluto is also a sexual aspect, which helps when you’re involved with rock music.
Jimmy Page also has a conjuncted astrotriangle with Mercury and the Sun at the conjunction, which then trines Chiron and aspects Juno. He (Sun) is a charismatic (Juno and Chiron) career (Chiron) musician (Mercury).
Finally, Page has a multi-planet synch that involves the Jupiter/Chiron midpoint, also called the Cinderella midpoint, which carries the energy of blessed (Jupiter) life (Chiron) or "super career". In Page's chart, the Jupiter/Chiron midpoint ties into a triple conjunction of Vesta, Mars, and Uranus, which is then trine Neptune and opposing Venus. Page could have a super career (Jupiter/Chiron) from energetic (Mars) and inventive (Uranus) music (Neptune) that earns him public acclaim (Uranus and Vesta) and long-term (Neptune) money (Venus) and financial security (Neptune). In other words, he could have a career as a rock musician.
Note that Uranus also rules independence and technology: Jimmy has been fiercely independent in his control of the Led Zeppelin output, as in, ensuring all songs were at least four of five minutes long, so they could not be turned into singles. He had a clear vision of Led Zeppelin being an LP-based outfit.

Super Success - ABBA
When it comes to the Swedish group ABBA, there’s a barrage of powerful synchronizations in the CAC - Combined Alignment Chart - of Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus. We will look at some of them here.
This is an interesting synch found in Benny’s geocentric chart. It doesn’t hold any musical energy per se. There are, of course, several synchs in Benny’s charts that represent his massive musical talent. But this synch only speaks of Super Fame (bi-directional Jupiter-Uranus quincunx) and commercialism (Ceres) from beauty (Venus).Next we will see what happens when we add in Bjorn’s planets…
Bjorn has two conjunctions and the asteroid Juno linking in with Benny's synch perfectly. The Mercury-Venus conjunction represents beautiful (Venus) music (Mercury).The Jupiter-Pallas conjunction represents successful (Jupiter) musical compositions (Pallas). Juno adds ambition and also the ability to “cast a spell” into this synchronization. In combination, this planetary synch is loaded with musical success energy.
Music producer Jack Antonoff
Prolific music producer Jack Antonoff, who is known for working with Bleachers, Lorde, Sia and Taylor Swift, is another example of super fame in music. In the geocentric chart, he has the Jupiter-Uranus super fame combination, which points to his Sun. Antonoff is a person (Sun) of super fame (Jupiter and Uranus).
Antonoff has a remarkable synchronisation between Mercury, Chiron, Neptune, Pluto and Mars. The aspects from Mars to Pluto and Neptune are a little wide, but both Mercury and Chiron aspect all the planets in the synch: He's an energetic (Mars) charismatic (Chiron), powerful (Pluto) and creative (Neptune) musician (Mercury) who is likely to enjoy a long-term (Neptune) career (Chiron) in music.
In the heliocentric chart, he has what's called a "mighty fortress" that is also reinforced in that it comes with two conjunctions. The successful (Jupiter) creativity (Neptune) conjunction teams up with the energetic (Mars) power (Pluto) conjunction to provide the engine for the charismatic (Chiron) music (Mercury) career (Chiron).
In Antonoff's helio chart, there's also a factor that makes us "suspicious" - it's a tight conjunction between Venus and Pallas that sits isolated by itself. It represents beautiful (Venus) musical compositions (Pallas) - but in Magi Astrology, we don't worry about two-planet aspects as they have been shown to "not really do much" by themselves. There has to be another reason the universe put this conjunction in Antonoff's chart and we suspect it acts as a flower that attracts connections with other musicians. Let's check this theory out.Taylor Swift's Earth and Pallas both tie into this conjunction: Unit (Earth) of beautiful (Venus) musical compositions (Pallas times two).Lorde's Mercury, Juno and Chiron - which by itself means charismatic (Chiron) and seductive (Juno) singer (Mercury) - ties into Antonoff's conjunction. We get: beautiful (Venus) musical compositions (Pallas) featuring a charismatic and seductive singer. It seems our theory was right.
Shanaia Twain
To further illustrate how planetary symbolisms work with musician and the music business, we look at Shania Twain - the best-selling female artist in country music history.
In Shania's helio chart we find the Jupiter-Uranus aspect we have spoken about.In her case it ties into Pluto, Neptune and Pallas. The structure formed by these planetary aspects is called an Invincible Fortress in Magi Astrology. The conjunction formed by Uranus and Pluto is a pure enhancement aspect, and we start with this.Power (Pluto) with the public (Uranus) and success (Jupiter) in the field of composing (Pallas) of creative music (Neptune). This structure also holds the super success combination of Jupiter-Pluto and the super fame combination of Jupiter and Uranus. Shania is a super creative (Jupiter-Neptune) super famous (Jupiter-Uranus) and super successful (Jupiter-Pluto) composer (Pallas) of creative music (Neptune).
The square aspect that Shania has between Neptune and Pallas also links into Chiron and Mercury in a separate synchronization. She has a long-term (Neptune) career (Chiron) as a creative (Neptune) and charismatic (Chiron) music composer (Pallas) and singer (Mercury)
